The "Justice in Ireland" programs are traditionally 2 or 3 week programs with travel throughout both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland (UK). Our trips typically begin and end in Dublin, Ireland. We often spend a few days in Dublin, Cork, Tullamore, and Galway in Ireland and also visit Derry/Londonderry and Belfast in Northern Ireland.

Numerous academic visits are planned in Ireland which include meetings with local garda (police), drug prevention/treatment providers, court officials or judges/barristers, and community corrections providers. We also visit historical prisons such as Kilmainham Gaol and the Cork City Gaol. In Northern Ireland we spend quite a bit of time with the Policing Services of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and visit both their police college and their memorial gardens. We also meet with professionals working in restorative justice in both Derry/Londonderry and Belfast. It also wouldn't be a trip to Northern Ireland without a historical review of "The Troubles" and the Ireland-Northern Ireland conflict. We tour both Derry/Londonderry and Belfast by coach and visit the famous murals depicting the conflict. Visits to the Free Derry Museum as well as the Crumlin Road Gaol also add to the students' understanding of the conflict.

There is also plenty of time in this program for visiting some of the great tourist attractions that Ireland and Northern Ireland have to offer. During each tour we visit the Cliffs of Moher, Blarney Castle, and Giants Causeway just to name a few.
